About and method
dexight brings data published by Chinese government agencies into one place, translates it into English, and shows where every number came from.
How data is collected
Software reads official release pages on a schedule, at a low rate, and keeps a private copy of each page as a record. Numbers are extracted directly from the original text by code and never pass through AI. If a source refuses access we do not work around it, and the page shows the last confirmed figure and the date we last checked.
How data is checked
A changed unit, a figure outside its plausible range, a sudden jump or a large revision stops that indicator's update until a person has reviewed it. Official revisions keep the earlier value and appear in the corrections log.
Translation
English indicator names come from a hand-checked glossary, so one term always has one translation. English titles and notes are dexight's unofficial translation. The Chinese original is authoritative.
Relationship to government agencies
dexight is an independent site. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Please treat the official release as the final word.
What is not here yet
The library currently holds 154 national indicators and home price indexes for selected cities. It does not yet cover provincial data, customs commodity detail, or the central bank's monthly money and credit figures (money and public finance are annual for now). History for some indicators reaches only as far back as the release pages that remain on official websites.
Using this data
Searching and downloading are free. When you cite a figure, please name the original publishing agency as well. Rights in the data remain with the publishing agency, so check its terms before any commercial reuse.
