About this data
An annual figure from the Statistical Communiqué on National Economic and Social Development, published by NBS each spring. Some of its figures come from other government departments, which the communiqué lists. The definition of M1 changed from January 2025 to include personal demand deposits and payment institutions' client reserves, so the 2025 figure is not comparable with earlier years. NBS reports 2025 growth on a comparable basis.
